About
Roman Schramm’s practice spans two distinct but deeply interconnected territories. In his visual work he develops large-format pieces that layer painting, photography and algorithmic composition: surfaces that shift and mutate depending on how they are seen.
In parallel, under the concept of Transformative Play, he investigates how fictional identity can become an instrument of self-exploration and growth. Both practices circle the same question: where does identity end, and what opens up when we inhabit the unknown?
Born 1979. Studied at HFBK Hamburg. His work is held in the collection of the Federal Republic of Germany.
